YOU PEOPLE JUST WAIT UNTIL NEXT YEAR.

I can't write too much about Thursday night's overtime loss. My heart hurts, and my stomach still is recovering from getting punched a couple hundred times. I had somehow talked myself into the Saints winning this game and winning out. I had this feeling they were playoff bound (see now non-usable scenarios). Yet until about a week and a half ago, I had said in about seven different postings that the Saints had no chance to win at Chicago.

Well, those were both wrong. They didn't win out and aren't going to the playoffs. However, they most certainly had a chance to win Thursday. What with the lead and three minutes left and all.

Quick notes.

1) I'm sick of the Saints ending their seasons in Chicago. Just wait until you have to come to the Dome in 2010, you bastard Bears. We'll show you. I'll go down on the field and wipe that little, asshole smirk off Lovie Smith's face myself if I have to.

2) Saints record when I watch with Paul: 0-4.
Saints record when Lopes and and I are both at work: 0-3.
Saints record when I'm there: 3-0.
Saints record when I watch alone: 3-0.
Saints record when I'm at work but Lopes isn't: 1-0.

Saints record against teams over .500: 2-7.
Saints record against teams below .500: 5-0.

Saints record when they have a turnover on the first possession: 0-3.

3) The first possession of each half for the Saints was a killer. 21 plays. 105 yards. 10:10 time of possession. Zero points. Two interceptions. That sucked. Chris Collinsworth was wrong, though. Brees did not have Meachem open in the end zone on that pick to start the second half. Meachem broke open as Brees was letting go of the ball. If he waits another second-plus, he has him. But I'm pretty sure pressure was a coming.

The Saints also punted from the Chicago 39 twice in the first half. Though one of those led to a touchdown after Orton (or as some news person called him Thursday: the lead singer of the Foo Fighters) fumbled.

4) Paul was debating whether to start Pierre Thomas in his fantasy first-round playoff matchup. It was Thomas or Joseph Addai. I told him to play Pierre. After some debate, he finally listened. I think he owes me a beer.

5) I'm not sure which lost was more gut-wrenching this season. Minnesota or Chicago. I think the Bears have the edge because it's later in the season. The Saints trailed in both. Came back and took a fourth-quarter lead in both. Then, lost on pass interference calls (on third downs) and game-winning field goals.

6) I would just like to say that the Saints outplayed the Bears for the most part in that game. As Jelly said: "The Bears fucking suck." They do. The Saints scored three touchdowns off three Bears turnovers. You're supposed to win the game when you convert those chances. The Saints converted several third-and-longs. You're supposed to win when you keep picking those up. In summary, we were supposed to win that game.

7) I'd like to say again that I hate a) the pass interference rule and b) overtime.
A brief summary:
a) Pass interference. There should be 2 types of penalties. One for small contact (see both interferences Thursday) and another for really smacking the guy. Type 1 should be 10 yards and a first down. Type 2 should be marked at the spot of the foul. I'm sick and tired of teams getting 40 yards for not really doing anything.

You should have to earn yards in the National Football League. Not be given them. Note: This rage isn't just a result of Thursday's game. I've been advocating this since I was in high school.

b) Overtime. Well, I think most people dislike this overtime system. Both teams should be given the ball at least once. This one possession stuff is bullshit. The key play in this game was the fucking coin toss. Whoever wins it, wins the game. Uggghhhhh.

THE TINA CURSING CORNER: THE SNOW DAY EDITION

It snowed for the fourth time in my life Thursday. My mom woke me up at 7:45 a.m. to come see the snow.

This is what the snow looked like at about 8 a.m. Mom: "It was just supposed to be cold and rain. I walked by the window and saw rain, and then I said: "That ain't rain. That's fucking snow."

I figured that this kind of snow would last for a few more minutes and stop. So, I went back to bed. Oops. Apparently, I missed quite the snow show. Mom took the rest of these pictures.

Who figured it would snow in Nawlins today but not in Chicago for the game?

Mom gathered the snow from my car to make a snowman. She used M&Ms for the eyes, but one fell out and blew away before she snapped the picture.

I think this is Frosty's baby. I hear he wants to be just like daddy. Mom didn't provide him with a broom, though.

When I got up, it wasn't snowing anymore. I could see some remnants on the lawn. Mom: "I got to go to the fucking dentist. I'm not going to be able to fucking drive because they're going to close the roads. Fucking schools are starting to close."

Mom cancelled her dentist appointment. "I got to live without fucking teeth for another week. All that fucking lying they did to me." Mom cancelled due to the inclement weather. "I thought about going and then I said 'Fuck it.' Somebody'll ram into the back of me. There's been a lot of accidents caused by people just looking at the fucking snow."

Mom had these other things to say about the historic day. "It's fucking freezing." "They had fucking delays at the airport with all the ice. Big ol' fucking mess." "You missed the whole fucking thing."

PARTING SHOTS
I'm telling people about how cool the Chris Paul bobblehead is. I realized what I said right away. (More on the Hornets and the bobblehead tomorrow.)

Me: It's pretty cool. I was playing with it last night. (AGG stopped what she was doing and just walked away.)

Here's a joke we discussed at dinner Thursday night: A religious guy stops at a motel for the night. He asks the manager if the porn is disabled. The manager: No, it's regular porn, you pervert. Now, that's hilarious. So, then a couple of co-workers came up with some disabled porn titles.

JRap: Hot Wheels.
Jelly: Raising Cane.

THE DAILY TOP LIST
The top five times I've seen snow.

5) Some future date.
I've only seen snow four times.

4) 1995.
I was sick. My friends were running around in the street. I was sad.

3) Today.

2) December 25, 2004.
I read about 100 comments on nola.com about today's snow. Four people thought they were informing other readers that the previous snow preceded what's her face.

1) December 22, 1989.
I was five. This was so exciting. Mom and I threw snowballs at each other on the front lawn.
