TONGUE TWISTER-TASTIC

I'm a big fan of tongue twisters. Not because I have a special talent to say them or anything like that but because they're just plain fun. It's fun if you can say it, and usually, it's more fun if you can't. I got an idea to alter one of the most enduring tongue twisters of our time.

A Tudor who tooted a flute
Tried to tutor two tooters to toot
Said the two to their tutor,
"Is it harder to toot
or to tutor two tooters to toot?"

I took a little bit more of a modern angle with my new one.

A teen who tweeted on Twitter
Tried to teach two teachers to tweet
Said the the two to their teen
"Is it harder to tweet
or to teach two teachers to tweet?"

I've always enjoyed saying that main one, but when you look at it, that's a really silly question. Obviously, if you already can toot, then it's harder to teach two others to do it. Also, why is the Tudor who can toot tutoring two people already being called tutors to toot? If they're tutors, then why are they being tutored to do what they already do? Me tongue-tied.

See, I think mine makes more since. If I had kept the complete spirit, the line would have been: Tried to teach two tweeters to tweet. Which wouldn't have made any sense. Make sense?

It's too bad I couldn't work "Tweeted about taking two Twixes" in there somewhere.

THE TINA CURSING CORNER

My mom decided to have the magnolia tree in our backyard taken down. Despite the shade it provides, she doesn't like the mess it creates and believes it will eventually fall on our house.

After contacting several companies, she gave the job to a cheaper bid who desperately wanted the gig, even "begging" for it. Well, the appointment was for 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, and at 10:15 a.m., mom called the man and said don't bother coming. She then called the owner and told him, "That's a hell of a way to do business."

Mom tells me all this when I wake up and concludes with: "This day is fucked." (The tree is coming down Wednesday. Company B is up.)

Mom and I agreed that 24 just keeps getting better. "That Tony is a bad motherfucker."

Mom is convinced, however, that the new bad guy shown talking on the phone with the woman pretending to be a lawyer is old CTU boss Ryan Chapelle, who was shot in the head in Season 3. I tried to tell her it wasn't him, but she would have none of it. "It's fucking him. Look at him. I can't believe you didn't realize that. It's fucking Ryan Chapelle. Looks just like him. Fucking Ryan Chapelle. Come on. It's fucking Ryan Chapelle."

PARTING SHOTS
Marcus informs D that he doesn't want in on our chicken run.

Marcus: I've been eating like a pig the last four days.
D: So what else is new?

We learn that a pitching mound in softball is called the circle.

Someone: It's a circle of trust.
Me: You never want to be out of the circle of trust.
Bake: You never want to let any jerks in the circle, either.
